Private Investigator Course
What is a private investigator?
A private investigator is an individual hired by a person or business to conduct an investigation. The investigations are usually related to legal, financial or personal matters and involve collecting evidence. A typical day might include conducting computer searches, making telephone calls and working out in the field. It is also routine to conduct interviews and do surveillance to gather information.
At Astoria Logistics Group students will receive the basic working knowledge of every phase of the Private Investigator profession and related occupation field. With no age and academic restrictions Astoria Logistics Group courses are available to anyone. Upon completion, Astoria Logistics Group students will receive a certification.
Employment
Once the student has his or her certification and training, they have the potential to work as a Store Detective, Loss Prevention Agent, Store Asset Protection, Field Investigator, Insurance Claims Investigator, Surveillance Investigator, and Fraud Investigator or for a Private Investigation Agency.

At Astoria Logistics Group we can issue the POWER TO ARREST, CARRYING & USE OF FIREARMS course certification.
Additional ADVANCE weapons training are available.
Whether you work as a private investigator or qualified manager, you may not carry a gun on duty without having been issued a firearm permit by the Department of Consumer Affairs. To apply for a firearm permit, you must complete:
Power to Arrest Course. The three-hour training covers responsibilities and ethics in citizen arrest, relationship with police, limitations on Power to Arrest, restrictions on searches and seizures, criminal and civil liabilities, terrorism, code of ethics, personal and employer liability.
A course in the carrying and use of firearms. The 14-hour (8 hours classroom, 6 hours range) training course covers moral and legal aspects, firearms nomenclature, weapons handling and shooting fundamentals, emergency procedures and range training. Written and range exams are administered at the end of the course.
